Meet Your Hosts

Your Hosts at Box Canyon Cabins

The Seavey family has lived on what is now "Old" Exit Glacier Road since before there was a road. It was a creek bed, then a dog team trail, then Dan Sr. and Judge Peck built a jeep road. You should have seen Dan's reaction when the Park Service tried to charge him a toll to drive down the paved road. The toll booth is still shuttered.

4 Generations later, we now live on the mountain behind the cabins, and the Yetis haven't gotten us yet. We also operate the Abode Well Cabins next door, and the IdidaRide Sled Dog Tours nearby with our family's racing huskies.

We were both born in Alaska, and Danny loves meeting guests and showing them this incredible state. Safia would rather enjoy her solitude, but hopes you have a wonderful stay. The kids do most of the work now, you'll probably see them chasing bears, or vice versa. Please call us if it's the latter. Safia comes out then.

We obviously love this area, or aren't smart enough to leave, but either way we think it's a great place to base your Alaskan adventure. We don't recommend swimming in the pond though, it's about 37 degrees. Our kids are not good judges of acceptable water temperatures.

We thank you for your interest in Box Canyon Cabins. We hope to see you soon!
