We enjoyed our one night stay at Box Canyon Cabins. We stayed in the Bears Den with our daughter's family. We had a good time bbqing hamburgers and then having s'mores later out by the campfire. We thought that the area looked like a great place for multiple families to get together. The grounds are beautiful and the cabin was set up nicely for a multi day stay.

We loved our stay at box canyons cabins. We reserved the moose and fisherman cabin. Both worked very well for our needs.

We loved our stay at box canyons cabins. We reserved the moose and fisherman cabin. Both worked very well for our needs. The moose cabin is on the lower level of the largest cabin, which can be annoying if the occupants are loud above you (which ours were a couple nights with their dog).

Laundry facilities are available. You’ll need detergent and it’s 2.50 for a wash and $3.00 for a dry. If you need quarters, you can get some at the Iditarod gift center.

They do have WiFi, which is starlink connected, so when there’s satellite it’s fast.

We saw a moose and her calf twice during our five night stay.

We spent one night in the Bears Den Cabin and we were thrilled with Box Canyon Cabins! It's so conveniently close to Seward, but you still feel like you are out in the woods. The property is gorgeous. The pond and the landscaping and flowers were lovely. My little grandson had a ball tossing pine cones off the little bridge and watching them bob away down the little stream. The fire pit area was great but we went to bed early and didn't make it back out to sit by the fire. The other "cabins" were all occupied but it was still quiet and private. It was so nice having two separate bedrooms (with comfy beds!) The kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes/cookware and there were even coffee filters and coffee. Super clean and the bathroom was roomy. The shower floor was a little slippery, a rubber mat or stick on decals would be a nice touch. The play area is no longer there sadly, our hosts said it was a casualty of winter. While that would have been fun for the little guy we would go back in a heartbeat and in fact are hoping to return with some other family members. Great hosts...very friendly. There is also a place very close by which had amazing sweet and savory crepes.

Five black stars.

a stay worth mentioning
